Dr. Elizabeth Sandel
Elizabeth Sandel, MD has decades of experience providing care for people with brain injuries and other neurological disorders in health systems in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and California, including Kaiser Permanente Northern California.
Dr. Sandel is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatry or PM&R) and brain injury medicine. She is a medical director for Paradigm, an accountable care management company for injured workers based in Walnut Creek, California. She has trained many residents and fellows in PM&R and has served on the faculty of the University of California/Davis School of Medicine for more than twenty years.
Dr. Sandel is a past president of the American Academy of PM&R, and the organization awarded her the Krusen Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. She is the organization’s historian and the history feature editor for PM&R.
